Chennai Superstars Score Easy Win

In the 12th match of the ICL 50's being played at Mayajaal Sports Village, Chennai Superstars defeated Kolkata Tigers by 6 wickets. Kolkata Tigers skipper Deep Dasgupta won the toss and elected to bat. Hemang Badani was declared man of the match for his brilliant 112 and 2 for 38.
Electing to bat the Kolkata Tigers managed to put on 311in their 50 overs. The Kolkata innings was off to a shaky start as the opener Paryiz Aziz was back in the pavilion by the 4th over, with the score on 8. This brought in Subhomoy Das who along with captain Deep Dasgupta put on 104 runs partnership for the second wicket to take Kolkata to a safer position after their horrid start. Subhomoy Das struck a fine 80 of 81 balls hitting 5 fours and 1 six and was the star of the Tigers innings. Deep Dasgupta gave him able support with a 62 ball 54. After the fall of these two wickets in quick time Abhishek Jhunjhunwala and Rohan Gavaskar struck a partner ship of 93 to take the score past 260. Gavaskar struck 64 balls 61 hitting 2 sixes and 3 fours while Jhunjhunwala struck quick fire 39 off 40 balls. The stand out performance for the Chennai Superstars from Hemang Badani who took 2 for 38 .
Chasing the target, Chennai Superstars didn’t have a good start. They lost their opener Hemant Kumar on the score of 34 in the 4th over. That brought in R Satish who along with opener V Devedran put on 22 run for the second wicket. R Satish was in fine form as he struck 37 ball 42 , hitting seven boundaries. The Superstars then lost 3 wickets with score on 101 in the 15th over. This flurry of wickets brought in Hemang Badani who seized control of the game by stringing a 209 run partnership with V Saravanan.Hemang struck a fine 112 off 94 balls and V Saravanan scored not out 107. Man of the match Hemang Badani struck 4 sixes and 8 boundaries in his innings. After the fall of Hemang Badani on score of 311 , V Saravanan hit the winning runs.
